The day is finally here to show you what we’ve been working on at Theory Wellness: Waterville.
WHO IS THEORY WELLNESS?
We have a deep passion for cannabis and the role it plays in improving people’s lives. Here at Theory, we cultivate and produce various extracts and infused products at our Waterville facility for our recreational dispensary. Focused on small batches and unique genetics, we strive to develop a premium range of flower, concentrates, and infused products for recreational cannabis consumers in Maine. Throughout our work, we remain committed to expand the science of cannabis and to work together to further improve your cannabis experience.

HOW DO I PURCHASE?
PLACE A PRE-ORDER!
Due to COVID-19 precautions, we strongly prefer customers to place orders to expedite the process and decrease the amount of time on-site for our teams’ safety and yours! Don’t worry, the process is easy!
STEP 1.
PLACE A PRE-ORDER
- Check out the Waterville Menu here
- Add items to your cart.
- Head to the checkout and fill out the required information including your name (as it is listed on your ID), birthday, and cell phone number.
- Choose a pick-up time slot and place order.
- From there, we’ll send you the following text messages:
- Your order has been received
- Your order has been confirmed
- Your order is ready for pick-up
- Changes and substitutions cannot be made to an order once it has been placed.
STEP 2.
ARRIVE
- When the order has been filled, you will receive a text stating, “Your Theory Wellness order is ready to be picked up today between XX:XX -XX:XX! We’ll see you then!”
- We ask that you do not arrive before your appointment and prior to receiving the pick-up text.
- Be sure you save that text – our team will ask to see it before allowing you inside.
- Please have your 21+ ID ready.
- Please wear a mask at all times.
- Please observe social distancing while at our location; if there is a line, please stand at least six feet behind the person standing in front of you.
STEP 3.
PAY
- When paying, we accept cash and/or pin-based bank-issued debit cards. We do not accept gift cards, Apple Pay, Venmo, or credit cards.
- Debit is run as a cashless ATM transaction with a $2.75 fee. Your bank may also charge you separate fees.
- Tax for cannabis sales is 10% in the state of Maine.
- We do not accept returns; however, please keep your receipt in case there are any issues with your order.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.
At Theory, we cultivate cannabis in very controlled environments to create the ideal conditions that allow our plants to thrive. By controlling the humidity, temperature, lighting, CO2 levels, nutrients, airflow, and pruning techniques, Theory is able to allow each strain of cannabis to reach its maximum genetic potential. Additionally, we implement strict and extensive sanitation protocols to ensure that no potential contaminants ever enter our facility.
Third parties independently test all products that are sold at recreational cannabis dispensaries in Maine. They’re screened for things like molds, heavy metals, and other contaminants that might cause adverse reactions. All products are affixed with a label that will reflect the testing information for every product you buy.
CANNABIS STRAINS
Theory carries a wide variety of marijuana strains. Each strain is labeled on the spectrum from Sativa to Indica. We also carry CBD rich strains. Many strains are hybrids, meaning they are a combination of the three main types of strains explained below.
SATIVA
Sativa strains of cannabis are naturally occurring in tropical, equatorial areas of the world such as southeast Asia and Africa. They are reported to have the following therapeutic effects, and are generally recommended for daytime use:
- Increased energy and focus
- Mood elevation
- Increased appetite
INDICA
Indica strains are naturally occurring in mountainous, colder climates. They are reported to have the following therapeutic effects and may cause drowsiness.
- Pain relief
- Reduction in anxiety / stress
- Muscle relaxation
- Inflammation reduction
- Sleep assistance
CBD-RICH STRAINS
CBD is a non–psychoactive compound that may have the following therapeutic benefits:
- Pain relief, especially nerve pain
- Reduction in seizures
- Reducing anxiety
THEORY PRODUCT CATEGORIES
FLOWER
Onset: 1 – 10 minutes
Duration: 1 – 3 hours
Flower is the heart of our business. We source genetics from world-renowned breeders to produce the highest quality, small batch cannabis, providing a spectrum of effects for different occasions and uses.
EDIBLES
Onset: 1 – 3 hours
Duration: 3 – 4 hours
Our soft, gummy chews are infused with precise doses of concentrated, full spectrum oil from a whole plant. Available as THC, CBD, and 1:1 (equal parts THC to CBD) varieties.
TINCTURES
Onset: 7 – 15 minutes
Duration: 3 – 4 hours
Tinctures are intended for oral consumption, whether mixed with your favorite beverage or held under your tongue for 30-45 seconds. This approach may result in a quicker on-set than the consumption of edibles.
EXTRACTS
Onset: 1 – 10 minutes
Duration: 1 – 2 hours
Extracts are a solid or semi-solid form of cannabis that have no remaining plant material left in them. They are concentrated, higher doses of pure cannabinoids and terpenes. They are most often consumed using a dab rig, vaporizer pen or other form of targeted heating system.
VAPORIZER CARTRIDGES
Onset: 1 – 10 minutes
Duration: 1 – 2 hours
Vaporizing is a route of consumption with effects similar to smoking. Due to its size and sleek nature, it’s perfect for portable and discrete use on the move. Our process of extraction preserves the taste of the flower as it was intended to be.
REMEMBER: Start Low, Go Slow
Since cannabis is independently tested from third-party laboratories, you’ll know exactly what strengths and dosages your products will be. When using products, ensure you understand your tolerance and products’ effectiveness to avoid consuming too much!
