The Chicopee Community Garden promotes urban agriculture and community building through gardening in low-income sections of the city. The group formed in the beginning of 2014 to discuss the needs of making fresh, locally grown food available to Chicopee’s low-income population at an affordable/free rate. CCG also offers educational resources/programs at the garden site. The group works closely with the city and has recently received a parcel of land to develop at Lincoln Grove Park in the Willimansett section of the city – an over 51% low-income neighborhood.
